Some stores have stupid policies. I always thought getting carded for spray paint at Walmart was a bit much, but I can kind of see the point. I learned about a policy at Hy-Vee this morning that I can't figure out.
I got off work at 4:30 this morning (I wasn't slacking, I went in at 6:30pm) and stopped at the grocery store. You know how a lot of grocery stores and Walgreens sell various gift cards now for your convenience? Yeah well, how convenient is it for me if I'm not allowed to buy one? Hy-Vee won't sell gift cards before 6am. Huh? Seriously? WTF!
The night stock/cashier guy told me that people would come in at night and steal them so they don't sell them before 6am. *confused* Ok, so you leave them sitting there in the greeting card aisle where I can grab one and put it in my cart, but you won't let me PAY for one because other people steal them?!?!
I wasn't rude about it or anything, I told the guy it was no biggie, but I think it's pretty dumb.
