I have had 2 excellent workouts 2 days in a row.
Yesterday I only had about 30 minutes so I did 5 minutes on the treadmill, 20 HARD minutes on the elliptical and then 10 more minutes on the treadmill. I really pushed myself for those 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer. The easiest way for me to gauge how I am doing is by the calorie count. I know the count is not right, but it is one simple number that tells me if I am working harder or slacking off. Usually, after 20 minutes I am pushing 300 calories, but I have to really make an effort to reach 300. Yesterday, I hit 326 calories. It doesn't seem like much, but in the long run it could be HUGE.
Today I had a little more time, 45 minutes. I spent the entire time on the treadmill. Sometimes I like to just walk. I really miss being able to take a walk outside in the evening, but Winter in Nebraska isn't always the best place to do that.
Now I am eating my dry salad. I've had a handful of people make fun of me for eating salad with no dressing, but if you put the right stuff in it, you don't need it. Today I've got baby mixed greens, portabello mushrooms, carrots, red cabbage, tomatoes and edamame(soy beans). For a snack I brought a container of yogurt and a banana.
I promise I won't eat a Super Size bag of Doritos tonight. The fun size bag is fair game, though.
