The new grand total is 35 pounds lost!
But, even more exciting than that is the conversation I had with my doctor yesterday. Back in December I saw my doctor and my blood pressure was high - like 150/110 or something similar. He put me on high blood pressure medication (I was not happy about needing it!!) and told me to come back in 3 months. I went back in March and my blood pressure was lower, like 130/90 but still borderline high. Yesterday my blood pressure was 120/80 and that was after having been to the gym and rushing to make the appointment. As great as that news is, it gets better! My doctor wants to see me in either 3 months or 20 pounds and if my blood pressure is still down, I get to stop taking the medication!!!
He also asked what I was doing to lose weight. I hesitated to tell him because I thought I would just get the "low carb is BAD!" speech. I told him, though and he responded by nodding his head and saying "That's good. You get plenty of carbs from vegetables, you don't need sugar, bread rolls, etc."
I'm certainly not endorsing it as a way of eating for everybody, but it works for me.
