Well, no probably not. I'm sure a tuna shake would suck more. The really bad shake I made today was 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla soy protein powder and a tablespoon of cocoa. It sounds like it should be ok, but let me tell you... *puke* It's got to be the soy protein powder. I don't like it nearly as much as whey protein powder.
I didn't plan my food well and ended up eating too much when I finally got home from class. I need to work on planning my meals better. I've already figured out that I need to plan far enough in advance that I make extra food on the weekends, but maybe I need to start planning daily.
I went to the gym today and walked for an hour. Like the shake, it sounds good in print, but in reality it sucked. My lower back was wonky today. Not bad, but just stiff enough that it took me like 10 minutes just get going. I would walk for a couple minutes then stop and do old man stretches (put your hands on your lower back, lean back and stick your belly out). The guy on the treadmill behind me probably though I was crazy. Once I finally did get to the point of walking comfortably, I was laboring to maintain a "warm-up" level of speed. The two positives to come out of all this are 1) I was there, I didn't let a stiff back keep me from the gym and 2) I listened to my body and took it easy.
Hopefully I can work hard tomorrow.
