Wedding invitations

It's pretty rare that I get an invitation and WANT to attend the event.  It's even more rare that I actually DO attend. 

 

I recieved an invitation to a wedding for a couple that I don't know.  I know who the bride to be is, but we've never spoken to each other.  So why did I get invited?  Why did I get invited and nobody else in my family did?  My grandma knows these people better than I do.  My brother is buddies with the bride to be's grandpa and he wasn't invited.  I don't know, but I think I will go.  It's been a while since I've been to a Greek wedding and with nobody else in my family there, I might have a good time.
