I called my mom last night and this is how the conversation went:
*ring*
"Hello?"
"Hi Mom"
"Nik..."
"What are you doing?"
"Voting for Elliot."
"HAHAHAHAHA! For real?"
"Yes! I've called half a dozen times. I even called Grandma and told her to call and vote for him"
"Who does Grandma like?"
"She likes Katharine and 'that bald kid'.
"What does she think of Kellie?"
"Oh, she can't stand her! She calls her 'boufos'"
"Blah blah blah..."
(Boufos is Greek for stupid - or something like that)
I know that my mom and Grandma are watching American Idol, but I didn't realize that they are participating. I am still voting for everybody but Kellie. Last night I voted a couple extra times for Katharine because the thought the judges were a little harsh on her.

In other news, I have thrown my back out. I took last Friday off just for the fun of it and it turns out it was a good thing I did, because I woke up and couldn't walk. I really wasn't able to walk upright until Sunday afternoon. Monday and Tuesday my back was a little tight and sore, but it was good enough for me to go to the gym. All I did was walk for 30 minutes at no incline and 2mph. I didn't even break a sweat! Today, I am unable to walk upright again. I don't think it was the gym, though, I think it was because I fell asleep on the couch last night. Dammit.
I was pretty devastated Friday when I realized that I was going to be in bed all day. At the time, the only reason I could see for my back hurting was obesity. I was sure that this was the first step towards becomming one of those people who weight 1000 pounds, can't get out of bed and have to wash themselves with a towel on a stick. If I didn't go to the gym like I do, I'd probably be half way there. Hopefully my family wouldn't enable me to do that. Maybe I should have a talk with them.
A good friend of mine made me feel a little better with these two bits of wisdom: "Skinny people have back problems, too!" and, "You were fat before today and you could walk!"
