Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit eating sugar.

Last week I decided that I needed to stop eating sugar. I'm not so super anal that I'm giving up natural sugar, just the refined candy, cake, donut, chocolate, foofy Starbucks coffee, etc sugar.
It's been about a week since I did this and I wouldn't mind a candy bar right now. I know that I just need to suck it up and not eat one, though. I gave up smoking, I can certainly give up candybars.

See, the problem with me and sugar is this: I eat a meal and am full. I think to myself "mmmm...chocolate". Once I eat the chocolate, something in me goes haywire and I feel like I haven't eaten in DAYS. OMG! I COULD STARVE!!! Obviously, this is not the case.

The first couple days after giving up sugar, I noticed that I was eating more carbs in general. Perhaps I was going through a little withdrawal and my body retaliated by making eat those chips, who knows. Maybe I just wanted some chips, dammit. Either way, I haven't had any excess carbs in the past 3 days, and I do think I notice a difference so for now, I don't eat sugar.


Asparagus was on sale at the grocery store, and I love steamed asparagus, so I bought some. I'll admit, I probably didn't need 2 bunches but now that I have that much and I steamed all of it, I'll be forced to eat it. I made the asparagus on Tuesday and had some with dinner. I had some with dinner last night and some with lunch today. My pee stinks.

Between Prince and Peter Gabriel, I think I only heard 3 songs while I was on the treadmill. Purple Rain was still on at like minute 8 of my walk and then it went to a live version of Diggin In The Dirt by Peter Gabriel.
