I don't feel tardy.

Starting back at square one is very difficult. First, you have to actually talk yourself into going back to the gym. Really that's the hardest part. I could go to the gym, or I can sit here, eating Cheetos and Christmas candy. Hmmm....whatever shall I do?

I ran out of Christmas candy yesterday, so I went back to the gym. I knew that I wouldn't be able to start right back up at the level I was at, but I didn't realize how much I had fallen back!
10 minutes on the treadmill and I thought I was going to pass out. 20 minutes and I thought I was going to die! I won't even tell you the speed/incline I was walking at because it's embarrassing.

One thing did make my gym experience much more pleasurable. My brother bought me an iPod Shuffle!! Very convenient for gym use. I like it for Big Iron use because nobody talks to me when I have the earbuds in. The left earbud falls out when I start sweating, though.

Ok, so I'm trying not to set any New Year's resolutions, but I am setting goals. My first goal is 30 gym visits in 30 days. Even if I only go and walk for 20 minutes. I always hear that you have to do something for 30 days before it becomes a habit and as I need to get back into the habit of going to the gym, I've set a 30 day goal. My first thought was to set a 90 day goal, but I don't want to set myself up for failure. Once I hit my 30 days, I'll go from there.

Wish me luck.
